SALT LAKE CITY — Freshman Shiv Sondhi won the third-singles title as Waterford held off Rowland Hall by one point to claim the 3A boys tennis state championship at Liberty Park.
Preston Jenkins and Sahil Shah added the title in first singles to help Waterford clinch its third team championship in five years, but first since 2022 after the budding rivalry went the Winged Lions' way the past two seasons.
It's the 12th team title in Waterford boys' tennis history.
Top-seeded Hans Baker won the second-singles title for Rowland Hall, which also took home the title in second doubles.
Juan Diego's Keanau Lei Foc won the first singles championship with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Judge Memorial's Diego Garrido.
