ST. GEORGE — A 9-year-old boy sustained head injuries in St. George after he was in a collision with another child Sunday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to the scene near the intersection of 2780 East and Flycatcher Drive, where the two children reportedly collided with each other while one was driving a golf cart and the other was on a motorized scooter.

St. George Police Sgt. Bryan Hendrix said the call came in about 3 p.m. Sunday. It appeared that a 12-year-old girl was driving the golf cart north on 2780 East, crossing over Flycatcher Drive. At that time, the boy was turning onto 2780 East. He rode in front of the golf cart, and they collided.

Hendrix said it appears the golf cart ran over the boy. He was found facedown on the roadway, unconscious and bleeding from his head.
