TOQUERVILLE, Washington County — One person was seriously injured and another suffered minor injuries after a head-on collision Monday, according to fire officials.

Crews responded to the scene just after 7 a.m., according to a social media post by Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue. The collision occurred on state Route 17 in Toquerville, about two miles from I-15.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and two people had to be extricated from the vehicles. One was taken to St. George Regional Hospital in serious condition; the other suffered minor injuries.

The two people have not been identified.
