WEST VALLEY CITY — A driver for a ride-share service was charged Monday with sexually abusing a woman.
Khairullah Haidary, 37, of Millcreek, was charged in Utah's 3rd District Court with two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
On Feb. 2, 2023, a woman ordered a Lyft to go home. During the ride, however, Haidary climbed into the back seat and inappropriately touched the woman, according to charging documents.
"Due to feeling ill, (the woman) was unable to fight Haidary away," the charges state.
The Utah Bureau of Forensic Services tested DNA that was collected and linked it to Haidry, according to the charges.
Last week, two other ride-share drivers were charged in separate cases of either abusing or attempting to sexually abuse women.
