CENTERVILLE — A 31-year old died Friday night after being thrown from his motorcycle on Legacy Highway.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva, witnesses said they saw a white Harley-Davidson motorcycle "traveling at a high rate of speed" near Parrish Lane about 9:20 p.m. when the rider failed to navigate a curve, colliding with the cable barrier in the center median.

UHP said the rider was then thrown from the motorcycle, and was transported in critical condition to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Following the accident Friday evening, UHP troopers shut down Legacy Highway going southbound at Parrish Lane to conduct an investigation.
