ROY — A 66-year-old man was taken to the hospital Monday night after being struck by a car in Roy near South Midland and Hinckley Drive.

Police responded to reports of a traffic accident at around 6:20 p.m., and when they arrived, "they found that a 66-year-old male pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene," Roy police said in a statement.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police are looking for a car believed to be "white or pearl-white color" that is missing a side mirror.

Investigators are hoping the public can help provide information about the crash. Anyone in the area around 6:20 p.m. who may have seen something is asked to contact the Weber County dispatch at 801-395-8221.
