ST. GEORGE — Traveling to Zion National Park is smoother thanks to a new bus route from St. George linking the towns along the Zion Corridor to Springdale.

On Friday, Southern Utah dignitaries celebrated the launch of the Zion Route from SunTran at the Dixie Convention Center.

Springdale Mayor Barbra Bruno told St. George News anything that can help get cars off the road is a big win. She added that many people had been working a long time to make the project happen.

"This is so exciting. This has been a long time coming, and Mayor Smith, who was my predecessor, worked really hard to make it happen. I'm sorry not to see him here today," Bruno said. "It will be great for our employees in Springdale. It will be great for our visitors, and it's just a really exciting day here."
