WILLARD, Box Elder County — A Kaysville man died in a paraglider accident in the Willard area on Friday.

A search was initiated about 7:30 p.m. Friday after a paraglider was reported overdue, Box Elder County Chief Deputy Sheriff Cade Palmer said Saturday.

A Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter crew assisted in the search operation and identified a debris field, confirming that a paraglider suffered a fatal crash.

The sheriff's office identified the victim as a 25-year-old man from Kaysville. His name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The helicopter was used to recover the man's body.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic loss," Palmer said.
