CEDAR CITY — Cedar City first responders were alerted Tuesday morning that a young child lost multiple toes in what police described as a lawnmower accident at a day care center on 1550 North.

Sgt. Justin Ludlow of the Cedar City Police Department said an accident occurred while someone was mowing the day care center's lawn and did not see the child near them.

"I have learned that this all happened at a day care and the person mowing the lawn was one of the owners," Ludlow stated.
