WEST VALLEY CITY — A West Valley home was destroyed in a fire Sunday, but no injuries were reported.
Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at 4050 W. Omega Way about 11:30 p.m. Sunday and arrived to find a single-story home ablaze. Thirty-five firefighters took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, but the home suffered about $400,000 worth of damage and is considered a total loss, said West Valley Fire Battalion Chief Scott Hall.
The residents of the home were all able to escape the blaze, and firefighters helped rescue two dogs that were inside.
"The cause is under investigation, but the home, unfortunately, is a total loss," Hall said.
Additional information was not immediately available.
