AMERICAN FORK — Police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside an American Fork home Thursday.

The husband and wife, described as in their late 40s or 50s, were found dead with gunshot wounds inside a home at 1418 N. 80 East, American Fork police said. Police Chief Cameron Paul said a midday 911 call came in from a family member who had discovered the bodies.

Paul said, in the initial call, the family called it a murder-suicide, but police are not confirming that yet due to "unique variables" at the scene that are prompting further investigation.

There is no danger to the community, but this incident will be a shock to the quiet street and community, Paul said.

Neighbors described the couple as serving, giving and loving. They said they are well-known and well-loved in the community. Some neighbors told KSL-TV they played softball with the couple the previous night, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
