SANDY — A man was critically injured Thursday when his motorcycle and a car collided in Sandy.
About 7:50 a.m., a 45-year-old man on a motorcycle was headed north on Highland Drive at the intersection with 9400 South. An 18-year-old woman was driving south and turned left into the path of the motorcycle, where they collided, Sandy police said.
The man received significant injuries and was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, where he underwent surgery, police said.
The woman drove herself to Alta View Hospital for minor injuries.
Police said there did not appear to be any impairment involved, but they are investigating speed as a factor in the crash.
