LOGAN — Utah cookie giant Crumbl on Wednesday announced that it acquired Pleasant Grove-based Crust Club.
Crust Club started in the kitchen of husband-and-wife duo Tyler and Valerie Kukahiko and was officially launched in 2016, opening a brick-and-mortar location in Pleasant Grove.
The acquisition will allow Crust Club — a local pie shop featuring sweet and savory pies — to explore franchising with an inaugural store opening in March at what used to be the South Logan Crumbl store at 981 South Main, Suite 180.
"Expanding into franchising allows us to bring our fresh, home-cooked meals to even more communities, starting with the vibrant neighborhood of the Cache Valley. We're especially excited to provide a closer option for customers in the northern region who have supported Crust Club from its early days," Sawyer Hemsley, chief branding officer, co-founder of Crumbl and owner of Crust Club, said in a statement.

As Crumbl began exploring savory options for customers, the company saw Crust Club "as a natural fit" for acquisition, according to a release from Crumbl.
"This acquisition marks an exciting milestone for both Crumbl and Crust Club," Hemsley said. "We're thrilled to welcome Crust Club into the Crumbl family and to continue providing our customers with delicious options to bring loved ones together and create more meaningful moments."
The opening of the new Crust Club location will also come along with a brand refresh and an updated menu offering take-and-bake options including pot pies, casseroles, pastas and soups, among other changes.
"This brand refresh reflects our dedication to providing our customers with delicious, convenient dinner options that don't compromise on quality or freshness," Hemsely said. "We're excited to introduce our expanded menu and refreshed look, reinforcing our company's mission to 'Reclaim the dinner table, one delicious meal at a time.'"
