SANDY — Sandy police are continuing to collect and process evidence to determine what lead up to a fatal shooting early Monday.

About 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of 635 E. 7800 South, in Sandy. They arrived to find two people had been shot outside of a duplex, Sandy Police Sgt. Greg Moffitt said.

Tony Dejolie, 31, was killed. A man in his 20s was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound and was reported to be "stable," Moffitt said. It was not immediately known if either of the two people lived in the duplex.

Two people were taken to the Sandy Police Department for questioning. Neither was arrested at the end of the interviews. Police stated Tuesday that the investigation was ongoing and detectives had been working with the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office.

Police had to shut down 7800 South from 500 East to 700 East for several hours on Monday as the crime scene was investigated.
