BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful police called the death of a missing woman whose body was found Friday morning suspicious.
The Bountiful Police Department received the report of an unconscious woman on Mueller Park Road, east of Bountiful Boulevard near 1800 South, about 8 a.m. Officers arrived on scene and administered medical aid to the woman, who was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said the situation is "suspicious in nature due to the manner in which she was found," but did not elaborate.
The woman was identified as April Marie Bowden, who had been reported missing on Wednesday. Her age was not released.
On Thursday, Bountiful police posted on social media that they were trying to find Bowden "so officers can check her well-being." She left her apartment Wednesday without a vehicle, cellphone or money, police had said. The post added that "there is concern for April's well-being due to medical concerns."
Police have not said who reported her missing, nor have they provided additional details about what might have caused her death.
The death remains under investigation, and police urge anyone with information on this case to contact them at 801-298-6000.
