MILLCREEK — A 38-year-old man was shot while walking home from a convenience store early Wednesday.

Unified police say they received a call around 4:35 a.m. from a man who claimed he had been walking home from a 7-Eleven near 400 East and 3900 South when a gold station wagon pulled up and someone in the vehicle fired multiple shots at him. The man was able to then continue walking for about a half-block to his residence, where he called 911.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he had surgery for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. No arrests had been made as of 8 a.m. The man allegedly told detectives he had no idea who shot him or why anyone would want to.

Anyone with information on the incident can call police at 801-743-7000.
