PROVO — Timpview's homecoming game against Orem Thursday might not have felt 100% real at its temporary home field at Provo High, but a 41-21 win against the Tigers sure helped the T-Birds feel right at home.
Quarterback Helaman Casuga kept the ball and scored on a 20-yard run on the opening drive of the game to set the tone for Timpview early. Orem responded with a promising drive and score to start the second quarter, but a pair of Thunderbirds touchdowns a minute apart later in the period all but settled the matter.
Timpview scored 28 unanswered points to bookend the homecoming court halftime show to put the game well out of reach for the Tigers, despite two more touchdowns in the second half.

Jaron Pula caught three touchdown passes for Timpview, including a 48-yard bomb from Casuga, and Mack Hixson ran in a pair of touchdowns for the Tigers.
The lopsided rivalry matchup marked Orem's fourth loss in its last five games, dropping to 2-4 on the season. Timpview, already ranked No. 5 in the KSL.com Top 20+1, moves to 4-2 on the season.
The Thunderbirds travel to the other side of Utah Lake to take on Cedar Valley next week, while Orem heads south to Maple Mountain.
