SALT LAKE CITY — Never pick against Alabama ... or so the thinking used to be.
But in the new world of college football, Alabama is vulnerable and not above losing games — even if the entire KSL.com Sports staff picked against Texas. Whoops! The Longhorns beat the Crimson Tide by 10 points and disrupted 88% of the Pick'em selections for that game.
Kudos to those who picked Texas to win. That, alone, set you apart from the majority.
Three people that picked Texas, as well as the other four games, came out on top this week with the top scores. BYU fan Ryan Barney topped the leaderboard with Utah fan James Barker with 199 total points for the week. The two edged past Utah State fan Kaleb Bilodeau, who finished with 196 points.
Congrats to our winners, who will get a $100, $70 and $30 Visa gift card, respectively, courtesy of Goldenwest Credit Union.
The overall winners of Pick'em this year will receive a $500 gift card for first place, a $250 gift card for second place and a $100 gift card for third place. So far, two BYU fans top the overall leaderboard, but there's a long season ahead.
