HERRIMAN — The former administrator of a popular Facebook group used for inviting singles to parties — a man already facing numerous charges of sexual assault in other cases — has been criminally charged again after police say they identified another victim.
Kevin Linford, 46, of West Jordan, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
A woman attended a party "planned through a social media group" in July in Herriman. In the parking lot outside the party, Linford forcefully pulled the woman close to him, began kissing her and pulling her hair against her will, according to charging documents for the latest allegations. When the woman pushed him away and tried to go to her car, police say Linford picked her up and continued to "make out" with her and inappropriately touched her before she could get away.
Linford already faces charges in Davis County of rape and two counts of object rape, first-degree felonies; six counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; aggravated kidnapping, a third-degree felony; and lewdness, a class B misdemeanor. He also faces five additional counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, in a separate case in 3rd District Court.
Prosecutors say Linford ran a "very popular Facebook singles group" in which he hosted parties and other events. However, several people have expressed their concerns to police about Linford "not being able to control himself and that he has a problem being too forceful with women at events and parties," charging documents state.
"Police have ongoing extensive investigations presently active," according to his latest charges. "Multiple victims, in addition to the two victims that (he) is currently being charged, have come forward to police. Multiple cases are still open and active" in Salt Lake County and other counties.
