ELBERTA, Utah County — Seven young horses are believed to have been stolen from a property south of Elberta in Utah County.

The seven horses were last seen on Nov. 27, 2022, at a property along Tunnel Road. The owner, Bill Boswell, initially thought the horses escaped, but did not see any sign of them for several weeks.

"It consumed me for quite a while," Boswell said. "We were here looking every day."

Boswell reported the horses missing to the Utah County Sheriff's Office, which said Thursday it now believes the horses were likely stolen.

"It's sure run into our mind that somebody's taken them, because we can't find 'em," he said.

Five of the horses are Azteca horses with bay coats. The other two are Perlino quarterhorses with buckskin coats.

"If somebody has them, I guess I can ask them to bring them back, but maybe they need them more than I do," Boswell said. "I have to turn it over to God now. Hopefully, he'll ... hopefully they'll show up."

The sheriff's office is asking the public to call Central Utah Dispatch at 801-798-5600 and to speak to a deputy if they have any information on the horses' whereabouts.
