CFP National Championship: No. 3 TCU (13-1) vs. No. 1 Georgia (14-0)

Monday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. MST at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles (ESPN)

The Bulldogs are looking to become just the fourth team since the College Football Playoff began to go undefeated all the way through the national championship.

Why TCU will win: The Horned Frogs dropped 51 points on Michigan at the Fiesta Bowl. No team had scored more than 27 points against the Wolverines all season before that.

Quarterback Max Duggan threw for two touchdowns against Michigan to get his season total up to 32 and also ran in two scores as he continues his dual-threat breakout season.

The Bulldogs' vaunted defense showed some holes in the Peach Bowl when they gave up 41 points to Ohio State and were saved by a last-second field goal miss.

Why Georgia will win: Georgia's hopes of an undefeated season and national championship repeat were saved by the Buckeyes' heartbreaking field goal miss.

Quarterback Stetson Bennett had three touchdown passes and ran in another as part of the Bulldogs' comeback win over Ohio State. Georiga trailed 38-24 heading into the fourth quarter but scored 18 points in the final frame to move on to the championship game.

The Bulldogs are still outscoring opponents 39-13 on average despite the high scoring Peach Bowl. They enter the final game as heavy favorites.
