BEAVER — Two people were killed in a head-on collision on I-15 Sunday, which state troopers say was caused by a wrong-way driver who may have been impaired.

The Utah Highway Patrol identified those killed as Caiti Mcniven, 24, of St. George, and Terry Neztsosie, 49, of Page, Arizona.

At 6:22 p.m. Sunday, the Utah Highway Patrol received multiple calls reporting a driver traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-15 several miles south of Beaver. Troopers responded to try to intercept the vehicle but were notified of a head-on crash just south of the town.

Troopers say Neztsosie was driving a tan Ford Escape that was traveling the wrong way when his car collided with a white Ford Fusion driven by Mcniven; both drivers were killed on impact, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Investigators suspect impairment was a factor in Neztsosie driving the wrong way.
