LEHI — State troopers say a 20-year-old woman was killed in a crash involving a fire truck near Thanksgiving Point on Friday.

The crash occurred around 12:37 p.m. near Timpanogos Highway and Club House Drive on the west side of I-15. The firetruck was traveling westbound on Timpanogos Highway while responding to a call about a commercial fire alarm.

As the truck came to the intersection of Timpanogos Highway and the I-15 offramp, it T-boned a Chevrolet Spark that was exiting the freeway going southbound.

The driver and sole occupant of the Spark, a 20-year-old woman, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Firefighters had only minor injuries.

"Our hearts go out to all involved and affected by this tragic accident," the City of Lehi said in a statement. "The Utah Highway Patrol is currently overseeing the investigation and the fire department is fully cooperating. More details may be available upon the completion of the UHP's investigation."

Westbound Timpanogos Highway was closed for around four and a half hours.

Lehi police asked the Utah Highway Patrol to assist with the investigation.
