LEHI — An Alpine School District bus driver has been placed on administrative leave as the district investigates the use of "threatening action or language," officials said Friday evening.
The incident reportedly happened earlier Friday, according to a spokesman for the district. The district did not release any information about the incident.
However, a parent of a student at Dry Creek Elementary School sent KSL a 16-second video that appears to capture the incident in question. In it, a student is recording out the window as students speak up about a missed stop.
The voice of the apparent driver then emerges over the PA system.
"If one more person says 'Where are we going?' I'm going to shoot them, OK?" the person says in the clip. "Now listen, I missed the stop. I'm trying to turn around. Do you understand?"
The Alpine School District spokesman said the driver was placed on administrative leave after the district was alerted about the incident.
"We strongly condemn any threatening action or language directed toward others," the district wrote in a statement. "We expect all employees to create safe and nurturing environments free of verbal or physical threats. Appropriate action will be taken to ensure this matter is addressed and not repeated."
