WEST VALLEY CITY — A Kearns man arrested last week and accused of ordering a masseuse to undress at gunpoint is now accused of attempting to sexually assault a woman at a second massage parlor.
Jeffrey Gerald Kirby, 32, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony; possession of a gun by a restricted person, aggravated assault, and aggravated kidnapping in the course of committing unlawful detention, third-degree felonies; and lewdness, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia, class B misdemeanors.
On Friday, Kirby went to Nice Massage, 3550 S. 4800 West. About 10 minutes into his session he told his masseuse to take her clothes off and then pointed a gun at her when she refused, according to charging documents.
"Be quiet, if you say one more word I will shoot you," Kirby told the woman about 10 times, the charges state.
When Kirby eventually put the gun down, the woman made a run for the door and, after a brief struggle with Kirby, was able to get out of the room, according to police.
After calling 911, the woman told police she saw Kirby exit the back of the building and get into a car. She took a picture of him and the license plate of his car and gave it to police. West Valley police identified Kirby as a possible suspect and tracked him to his home. A SWAT team was called to search the Kearns residence and take Kirby into custody.
It was also revealed in court documents filed Wednesday that Kirby went to another undisclosed massage business before going to Nice Massage.
In that case, police say he "barged in" and demanded a massage. A woman, who was already giving a massage to a client, told Kirby "that he needed to make an appointment and began pushing him out of the building. While (she) was pushing him down the hall, Kirby stopped, turned and pointed a gun at her," according to the charging documents.
When the woman said she did not have any money, "Kirby motioned to his genitals saying that he only needed five minutes," the charges state. The woman, fearing she was about to be sexually assaulted, "grabbed the gun and continued pushing Kirby out of the building."
Police say Kirby has an "extensive criminal history" in California, including arrests for prostitution, drugs and threatening to shoot a woman who did not close a laundry room door.
