RICHFIELD — One person is dead and two others are injured after a car crash in Richfield Friday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 1 p.m. when the driver of a Nissan Sentra was eastbound on 1500 South and came to a stop sign at state Route 118. The driver attempted to cross the highway but "failed to wait for traffic to clear" before pulling in front of a southbound Dodge, according to a statement from the Utah Highway Patrol.
The impact of the collision hit the driver-side door of the Nissan, killing that driver on impact, troopers said.
There was a child in the Nissan who sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the Dodge also sustained injuries.
UHP said all involved were wearing seat belts.
The name of the person who died has not yet been released.
