ST. GEORGE — In March 2019, Dave Rose announced his retirement from BYU after 14 seasons as the men's basketball coach. He and his wife, Cheryl, had big plans for the future; that is until several major health challenges put those plans on hold.
"My wife's spending more time taking care of me than we are actually enjoying our retirement," Rose said. "I hope that I can get healthy and we can have a couple of good years. That's what we're looking forward to."
The longtime BYU coach sat down to talk about his health today, the frailty of life, and the healing power of a little red sand. View the video above to hear his story and to see how Rose is doing today.
