PARK CITY — Another day, another marijuana bust — with over 100 pounds seized by Utah law enforcers.

On Wednesday, deputies from the Summit County Sheriff's Office pulled over an SUV on I-80 near Park City for speeding. The deputy initially stated he would be issuing a warning. But then, based on what he was smelling, asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle, a police booking affidavit states.

One of two women in the vehicle told the deputy there was a small amount of marijuana in the SUV for personal use only, according to the affidavit. She also admitted to not having a medical marijuana card.

"I then conducted a search of the vehicle which revealed over 172 pounds, including packaging, of a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana," the trooper wrote in the affidavit.

Tajaa Renee Fair, 24, and Kristen Ashley McKenzie, 23, were booked into the Summit County Jail for investigation of possessing more than 100 pounds of marijuana. Fair, of Atlanta, Georgia, was formally charged by Thursday afternoon in Summit County's 3rd District Court with possessing more than 100 pounds of marijuana, a second-degree felony.

The bust is the latest for Utah police in a string of cases in which more than 100 pounds of marijuana was seized during traffic stops.

Earlier this week, 550 pounds of marijuana was found in a trailer with an expired registration on I-80. In April, troopers seized 157 pounds and 227 pounds of marijuana in separate stops, and 313 pounds in September.

Correction: Wednesday's bust was made by the Summit County Sheriff's Office. An earlier version incorrectly stated the Utah Highway Patrol made the arrest.
