WANSHIP, Summit County — The shelter-in-place order for residents living near Tollgate Canyon in Summit County was lifted Tuesday night; eastbound lanes of I-80 reopened while one westbound lane remained closed after a semitruck containing hazardous materials rolled over.

Residents in the area were told to shelter in place and avoid the Rail Trail following the rollover on westbound I-80 Tuesday afternoon. Due to the crash, westbound I-80 was closed at Wanship. All but one lane near Tollgate Canyon had reopened by 5:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver had minor injuries from the crash but was otherwise OK, Utah Highway Patrol officials said.

County officials had been "coordinating shelters for Tollgate residents if (road) closures last later into the night," according to a Summit County tweet.

The Utah Department of Transportation said drivers should "expect major delays" and asked them to take an alternate route, if possible.
