SALT LAKE CITY — Some familiar names are returning to the Salt Lake Bees as spring training ends and the team opens its season Tuesday.

Overall, 12 are returning players and four of Los Angeles Angels' top 30 prospects are included as the team takes on the Tacoma Rainiers Tuesday evening.

Catcher Matt Thaiss, and infielders Luis Rengifo and Kean Wong highlight players with the most Angels tenure on the roster. Thaiss, who was rated as the Angels' top prospect at the end of 2016, switched over from infielder to catcher late last season.

Pitcher Janson Junk, the Angels' No. 11 prospect, was tapped to start Tuesday's opener. He's joined by pitchers Davis Daniel (No. 13), Ryan Smith (No. 26) and infielder Brendon Davis (No. 22) as the top prospects on the team. Davis smacked 30 home runs last season, leading all minor leaguers in the Angels' system.

The team's full roster can be found here.

It was previously announced that Lou Marson will return as the team's skipper. The biggest change expected this year is that the Pacific Coast League, where the Bees play, will test an automated strike zone system.

The Bees will play their first home game on April 12 against Las Vegas.
