MURRAY — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed Wednesday night while trying to cross the street in Murray, police said.

About 9:35 p.m., the 44-year-old man was crossing at 5043 S. State Street when he was struck by a northbound vehicle, Murray police said in a statement.

The driver of the vehicle reported the crash and remained on scene, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. His name has not yet been released.

The accident remained under investigation Thursday morning.
