SALT LAKE CITY — One person was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian accident at 1700 S. State St. in Salt Lake City Monday night.
Salt Lake City police tweeted after 11 p.m. that southbound lanes were expected to be closed until 1 a.m. Tuesday. They later reopened.
The pedestrian was crossing the street but not in a crosswalk at the time they were hit, according to Salt Lake City police spokesman Brent Weisberg.
The driver is cooperating with police.
No other details were immediately provided.
We expect S. State Street to re-open by 1 AM. A PIO responded to brief media. No further updates are expected until 11 AM Tuesday. The victim remains in critical condition.
