SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead after a shooting near 130 South and 800 West on Sunday morning.

Salt Lake police responded to reports of a possible shooting about 9:22 a.m. and located one adult with a gunshot wound, according to a news release. Police and paramedics attempted life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful.

Police then secured the scene and began to search for additional victims or possible suspects, the release added.

The Salt Lake City Police Department's Homicide Squad and Crime Lab Unit responded to assist in the investigation. No arrests have been made, police said, but they believe this was an isolated incident with no further imminent danger to the community.

The identity of the person who was killed was not released.
