WEST VALLEY CITY — A 9-year-old girl was injured in a drive-by shooting near her West Valley City home on Saturday, according to police.

The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. in the "1500 block of Calvo Drive," according to West Valley City Police.

The girl, who was inside the home at the time of the shooting, was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

Other details regarding the incident were not immediately available.
