SALINA, Sevier County — A woman died after her semitruck collided with the back end of another semitruck Saturday evening, Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

About 7:30 p.m., a red Kenworth semitruck pulling a gas trailer was eastbound on I-70 near Salina. A white semitruck with double trailers was also eastbound in the same area, according to the release.

The man driving the red semitruck stated he was traveling 55 mph and had his lights and flashers on. The driver of the white Kenworth semitruck impacted the back end of the red semitruck, then ran off the road to the left, UHP officials said.

The driver of the white semitruck, a woman, was killed on impact.

The male driver continued and pulled the vehicle off the right side in the emergency lane, according to the release.

The identities of those involved were not released.
