ROOSEVELT — A 10-year-old boy died Tuesday after being hit by a car in Roosevelt, police said.

About 3:40 p.m., the boy was struck by a westbound SUV while he was crossing 100 South at State Street, Roosevelt police said in a news release Thursday.

The 10-year-old was taken by ambulance to Uintah Basin Medical Center, where he died.

Police said they will not release his name.
