FARMINGTON — A COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 5 to 11 opened Monday morning at the Davis County Legacy Center.
Since the doors opened at 10 a.m., cars steadily rolled into the drive-through vaccination clinic, where health workers administered the FDA- and CDC-approved, low-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children.
Folks driving through the clinic have scheduled their appointment in advance. With such high demand, that's what the Davis County Health Department is currently requiring.

Health leaders are trying to make the process smooth, safe and convenient — allowing people to stay in their cars.
While many Utah families are still hesitant about the COVID-19 vaccine, others tell us it's a huge relief to have this available now — it means traveling again and visiting with loved ones they haven't seen for months.
Davis County Health leaders said so far, things are going well on day one. They hope to administer between 1,200 and 1,500 doses a day.
"We're trying to use these first days to get our staff ready for the big push. We have plenty of vaccine right now, and plenty of resources to give these shots out," said Dave Spence, deputy director of the Davis County Health Department.
