CISCO, Grand County — Troopers have identified a woman who died after a fiery wrong-way crash in Grand County on Sunday.

The woman was identified as 43-year-old Jody M. Love, of Ferguson, North Carolina, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Love died and others were seriously injured in the fiery crash, which involved two vehicles and took place near the Utah-Colorado border, the highway patrol said.

At about 1:30 a.m., a Kia SUV was eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-70, according to a UHP news release. The Kia SUV struck a large box truck head-on and both vehicles caught on fire.

The driver of the Kia SUV, later identified as Love, died on scene, the release said. The occupants of the box truck made it out with serious injuries, though the number of occupants was not specified by officials.

Colorado fire crews and paramedics responded to the crash for medical care and fire suppression. The Utah Highway Patrol Major Crash Investigation Team was notified along with the State Bureau of Investigations, according to the release.

Westbound lanes of I-70 were closed for 3½ hours Sunday due to the crash.
