WEST JORDAN — A 22-year-old West Valley City man died after his vehicle lost control and hit a tree early Sunday, West Jordan police said.

At about 1:50 a.m. the man was southbound on Grizzly Way when he lost control of the vehicle, West Jordan Police Sgt. Brian Schaaf said.

After losing control the vehicle went off the road into a tree near 8100 South, according to Shaaf. The accident reconstruction team is investigating the incident and are considering speed as a possible factor, he added.

The identity of the deceased was not released.
