CEDAR CITY – A woman died and four other people were critically injured Tuesday in a crash in Cedar City, police said.

At 10:07 a.m., a cement truck collided with a Ford Explorer at the intersection of state Route 56 and Iron Springs Road, Cedar City police said in a news release.

The Ford had five occupants inside. The driver died at the scene, police said. Her name has not been released.

Two other women and two boys inside the SUV were taken to hospitals in critical condition.

The driver of the cement truck was uninjured.

The possible cause of the crash has not yet been released.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by this tragic incident," Cedar City police said.
