SOUTH JORDAN — A woman was shot and injured in a car late Monday in South Jordan, causing her to crash into another vehicle, police say.

As officers responded to the report of shots fired, they were called to a crash in the same area that included a driver with two gunshot wounds at 10400 South and 2450 West, said South Jordan Police Lt. Rob Hanson. While driving east, the woman hit a westbound car.

The driver of that other vehicle noticed the woman driving slowly into their lane and the driver hit their brakes, Hanson said, describing the crash as minor.

The woman with gunshot wounds was hospitalized in good condition, Hanson said. He did not say where she was shot.

No one in the other vehicle was injured.

The shooting appeared to be connected to a fight, Hanson said, but it remains under investigation.

Witnesses reported seeing two people run from the crash scene, according to Hanson. No potential suspects have been found.

Police said they do not believe there is a threat to the public connected to this incident.

Correction: An earlier version said the incident occurred near 11400 South instead of 10400 South.
