SALT LAKE CITY — A man suspected of possessing child pornography was arrested by investigators from the Utah Attorney General's Office on Tuesday.

But other items found in the man's residence have made investigators extra concerned, according to a police booking affidavit.

The investigation began in February when an undisclosed social media company reported that suspected child pornograpy was being uploaded and distributed on their platform.

"The social media company attached 39 files which the unknown user uploaded," according to the affidavit.

Using the IP address and collecting cellphone information, investigators traced the social media account to a user in Salt Lake County.

On Tuesday, members of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force served a search warrant on the residence of Matthew Christopher Lowe, 46. In addition to the alleged child pornography files on social media, investigators found multiple CDs in Lowe's bedroom that contained suspected child porn based on their titles, the affidavit states.

"Investigators on scene also seized eight sex dolls from the residence, all of which appeared to be childlike and dressed in children's clothing. For example, two of the sex dolls were dressed in Disney's 'Frozen' movie nightgown," according to the affidavit.

Lowe was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

"Based on the evidence your affiant has uncovered so far in the investigation, which include the seizure of several childlike sex dolls in Lowe's residence, your affiant has reason to believe Lowe is a danger to society. The Utah Attorney General's Office requests no bail be set for Lowe," the arresting officer wrote in the arrest report.
