LOGAN — Police have released the identity of the man who died after a motorcycle crash in Logan Canyon about 11 miles east of Logan on Saturday.

Midvale resident Bradley L. Goertzen, 59, was northbound at about 12:15 p.m. when he "failed to negotiate a curve" and laid the motorcycle down into oncoming traffic, a police press release said. He was then hit by a truck and the truck's cattle trailer.

Goertzen died at the scene, and police say there were no other injuries.

U.S. 89 was closed for around two hours while police investigated the crash.
