SANDY — A Sandy man was charged Thursday with four felonies accusing him of inappropriately touching a young teenage girl he worked with at a haunted house attraction last fall.
Shawn Derrick Green, 33, is charged in 3rd District Court with three counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony.
Between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30, Green worked at a haunted house in Draper with a 14-year-old girl. Police say the two became friends and the girl would sometimes get a ride to work with Green.
At some point, Green started getting "touchy" with the girl, according to charging documents, and also sent her an inappropriate picture and asked for one from her, but the girl did not send one.
Green is also accused of inappropriately touching the girl while she was at his home in Sandy. "(The girl) stated that she was afraid that if she said no, Green would hurt her," the charges state.
When interviewed by police, Green said "it was a lapse in judgment" and admitted he told the girl "not to tell anyone what happened between them," according to the charges.
