BOUNTIFUL — Three people were killed Sunday evening in a small plane crash in Davis County, sheriff's officials said.

First responders learned of the crash in a remote area of Sessions Mountain east of Bountiful about 7 p.m., the Davis County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Search crews found the Cessna 182 Skylane — a four-seat, single engine plane — via air surveillance late Sunday night and reached the site about three hours later.

Search and rescue crews Monday were working to remove the victims' remains. Family members have been notified, but the victims' identities have not yet been released.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane crashed under unknown circumstances.
