WEST VALLEY CITY — A Utah Highway Patrol sergeant and several other people were hospitalized after a crash on I-215 Sunday morning.
The sergeant was investigating an abandoned vehicle on the freeway near 2800 South when another car rear-ended his patrol vehicle, according to a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety.
The sergeant was sitting in his car when the crash occurred. He and the occupants of the other car were transported to hospitals. None of the people involved were identified.
Authorities did not say how many people were in the other car, or how severe their injuries were. The exact time of the crash also was not released.
