LINDON — A Lindon woman said she was looking for help from the public after five lizards were stolen from her home during a burglary, apparently perpetrated by some unusual suspects.

Shannon Corwin said three bearded dragons, a corn snake and a chameleon vanished from her house on Thursday.

Video captured by a surveillance camera in her living room appeared to identify the thieves as two young boys.

"I'm going to say between 9 and 13 years old," Corwin surmised. "I was shocked to see these little kids just come in and take them and go."

Corwin believes the boys entered through an unlocked door.

Though they seemed to know exactly where to go and only took the lizards, Corwin said she had never seen the children before in her life.

"I was flabbergasted," she said. "I thought it was adults!"

Among the bearded dragons, Corwin said, is one with special needs.

"Gus — he is a rescue," she said. "I rescued him from somebody. He wasn't taken care of properly. He has MBD, which is metabolic bone disease. He can't walk, he can't eat, he's 100% hand-fed, and we're now on Day 6 of him not having any food."

Corwin hoped anyone who knows the whereabouts of the lizards or who has any information in the case will contact Lindon Police Department dispatch at 801-229-7070.

"I want my animals back," she said. "I'll do anything to get them back."
