SPANISH FORK — Midway through Grantsville baseball team's second game of a doubleheader championship for the 3A state title, the crowd erupted in cheers — and it had nothing to do with what was happening on the field.

The Cowboys' softball team had just made the trip from Spanish Fork to West Jordan to join their baseball counterparts — a few hours after winning a championship of their own.

Winning pitcher August Cowan had a double and two RBI to help Grantsville to its fourth consecutive Class 3A state title with a 6-5 win over Manti on Saturday afternoon at the Spanish Fork Complex.

Brooklyn Frischknect and Miyah Fields each added an RBI for the Cowgirls (19-6), who overturned an early deficit with five runs in the fourth and fifth to clinch their fourth championship in program history.

Haylee Daniels smacked two RBI for Manti (28-4), who plated three in bottom of the first.

Loser's bracket final

Manti 8, Carbon 7

At Spanish Fork Complex, Katie Larsen smacked a double and a home run to help the Templars survive the Dinos in the first game of the day to set up the championship.

Kassidy Alder added a double for Manti (28-4), which overturned a 7-5 deficit in the bottom of the ninth with three runs to take the win.

Lyndsey Madrigal crushed a homer for Carbon (20-5).

Class 2A softball

Enterprise 5, Beaver 2

At Spanish Fork Complex, winning pitcher Blakelee Christiansen scattered four hits over seven innings with six strikeouts to help the Wolves to back-to-back 2A championships Saturday afternoon.

Addison Nelson added a double for Enterprise (20-8), which plated four runs in the third inning after falling behind 2-0 to rally for the win.

Loser's bracket final

At Spanish Fork, Kenzlee Carter and Star Moon combined for five RBI with a home run apiece as the Beavers advanced to the championship with a 9-2 win over Parowan.

Carter helped pace a five-run sixth inning to pull away for good for the Beavers (17-9), and Madi Robinson allowed just three hits over seven innings to clinch the win in the circle.

Saydee Jensen and Madison Adams each slugged an RBI for the Rams (18-9).
