61-year-old man drowns at Pineview Reservoir

EDEN — A 61-year-old man drowned at the Port Ramp Marina at Pineview Reservoir Saturday.

Bystanders saw the man playing in the water, and shortly after he was found face down in the water around 4:01 p.m. The bystanders then pulled him out of the water and began life-saving efforts, according to Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Cortney Ryan Weber.

A Weber County Sheriff's deputy was in the area at the time and was at the scene within seconds. The deputy and other EMS responders continued life-saving efforts, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is currently in progress, but there is no indication of foul play.
