SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah football program continues to improve its nonconference schedule.

On Monday, Utah announced a home-and-home series with the Big Ten's Wisconsin for the 2028 and 2033 seasons — locking up the furthest game out to date on Utah's schedule with the 2033 matchup between the two teams. The series, which is just the latest of a round of Power Five opponents to schedule with Utah, will begin in Madison, Wisconsin, on Sept. 16, 2028.

The back end of the two-game series will be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium 12 years from now on Sept. 10, 2033, which means kids currently 6 to 11 years old will be the ones making up the roster on that date. The Badgers have never played in Salt Lake City.

The decade-out scheduling follows a recent uptick in games scheduled more than a decade out among Power Five programs. Utah currently has at least one nonconference opponent scheduled each year through 2033, with recent additions of Arkansas, Florida and LSU added in the last two years.

Wisconsin holds a 2-1 advantage over Utah in the series record, with the last meeting between the two programs being a Copper Bowl matchup in 1996 when Wisconsin pulled away for a 28-21 win.
